Description
Genuine 1st Jewish Revolt against Rome bronze Masada coin set in a pair of 14k gold cuff-links.
An important coin with historical connections with the Masada Revolt and the destruction of the second Jewish Temple in Jerusalem.
The inscriptions on these coins use a paleo-Hebrew script known from the time of King David and later reused on Hasmonean coins. The use of this script shows the Zealots were attempting to restore independence in Judea. The coin on one side shows a Jewish amphora, a large pottery vessel used for storing water or wine and a grape leaf on the reverse. Both symbols are of prosperity and abundance. Josephus, a first century Jewish/Roman historian, explains the events of the first Jewish Revolt in great detail.
Weight: 15.7 grams.
Width: 0.7″ inch / 1.8 cm.
Leader: Simon bar Giora.
Minted in Judea: 67-69 A.D.
Comes with a certificate of authenticity and all required documents for export.
