Value for money high quality anointing oils from Israel in range of bottle sizes.
Jesus’ life began and ended with gifts of valuable aromatics. The wise men came from the east to Bethlehem and presented Him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. Due to the expense of transporting frankincense and myrrh from the horn of Africa and Arabia, they were probably more valuable than the gold! They brought these gifts to honor Jesus as the King of the Jews.
In the book of Exodus, God commanded Moses and the Israelites to prepare an anointing oil of myrrh, and a special incense with frankincense. They were to anoint the tent of meeting with the myrrh perfume and burn frankincense before God. It is not a coincidence that the wise men brought these divine gifts to Jesus.
Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;
( James 5:14)
Just before Jesus’ death, Mary took a bottle of spikenard, broke the bottle and poured the perfume over His head as He reclined at the table in Bethany, near Jerusalem. Once again, spikenard was an expensive gift that came from a great distance, from the Himalaya Mountains of India. Jesus said that Mary brought this gift to prepare Him for His burial. She came to honor Him as the Savior and Redeemer of all of humanity. I am sure if you had asked Mary why she went to such expense she would have replied that Jesus was worth it! In the Song of Songs, God speaks of the scent of His beloved, His people. He says that His people smell of spikenard. This reminds us that God went to great expense to purchase our redemption on the cross.
From beginning to end, Jesus’ life was scented by perfumes and incense. In this collection, Zak’s Jerusalem Gifts offers buyers the opportunity to enjoy frankincense, myrrh and spikenard individually, or even all three together.
In addition to the ones listed above, Zak is proud to offer many other fine biblical scents. The oils in this collection are made right here in the Holy Land and make excellent gifts. These affordable bottles of oil allow the believer to transport themselves mentally during their quiet time to the first century, when Jesus was alive, and to meditate on His birth, His life and His death.
