When Jesus was born, wise men from the east brought Him the exotic fragrances of frankincense and myrrh. Just before the events surrounding the crucifixion, Mary anointed Him with spikenard in preparation for what was to come.
Perhaps less well-known, when He was buried His body was prepared in the traditional way with myrrh by Joseph of Arimathea. This set celebrates the birth, death and resurrection of our Savior.
