The Jewish prayer shawl

This is a high quality wool tallit made in Israel

The Jewish prayer shawl, or “tallit” in Hebrew is an authentic Jewish garment with a long tradition in ancient times.

It is a rectangular-shaped piece of linen or wool (and sometimes, now, polyester or silk) with special tassles called Tzitzit on each of the four corners. Most Tallitot have a neckband, called an Atarah, which most often has the blessing one recites when donning the Tallit, embroidered across it.  The biblical basis for this tradition can be found in Deuteronomy 6. The garment mimics the outer garment worn in ancient times, and is a reminder of the ancient roots of Jewish tradition.
