Description
Authentic King Levon 1 coin from 12th Century Armenia – discovered on an archaeological dig in Jerusalem.
This unique coin is in ‘extremely fine’ condition. The front has a cross with the words ‘Live on king of the Armenians’.
Set into a heavy 925 sterling silver bracelet in Jerusalem.
King Levon served as a bastion of Christianity in the Near East, collaborating with crusades and crusaders while at the same time trying to maintain a balance with the rising powers in its neighborhood and beyond that professed Islam.
