The “Widow’s Mite” is a small bronze Jewish prutah of Alexander Jannaeus (103-76 B.C.), which was reused as the small change during the time of Jesus and even later. It would have been the coin that Jesus referred to in his parable of the Widow’s Offering in Luke 21.
