This 6th century Byzantine coin, called a follis, was found in a Jerusalem archaeological site in the 1950’s.
Uniquely, this coin bears the image of Jesus on one side, and the other proclaims, “Jesus, King of Kings” around the emblem of the cross – a mold that was used for only a short period of time under one Byzantine ruler.
