Clay lamps have been and still are practical and functional today. It is considered that its operation, although today we can consider it simple, was very ingenious at that time. Later, a lighter was introduced (which could be made of cloth or linen rope) and the inner tank was filled with oil (in Israel olive oil was used), it was left to rest so that the lighter was impregnated and finally it was lit to test its good functioning.
