The supreme archangel Michael is a protector of the Church and is leader of the celestial army, which is why he typically wears military garb.

In the fight of angels described in the book of Revelation, he vanquishes satan, and as Jesus’ right hand, he assists Jesus in judging souls at the Last Judgment.

This unique work of art is formed from a single block of olive wood.
